Greenwood Plantation was built in 1830 by William Ruffin Barrow in the Greek Revival style of architecture with 28 columns surrounding the mansion. It is considered the south’s finest example of classic colonial. Often referred to as the “Best Kept Secret in the Feliciana Hill Country,” the plantation offers historical tours daily, bed & breakfast lodging, and serves as a venue for weddings and other events.
The current owners took over operations about 14 months ago. The previous owners weren’t using any technology that made tracking business activity easier. As a result, the current owners had little insight into the business’ historical performance. Even after implementing a point of sale system, Greenwood Plantation was still limited in their ability to issue advanced reservations or affordably sell tickets to their tours online through their website.
Solution: OnceConnect, Distribution
Greenwood Plantation was introduced to OnceThere as a result of a distribution partnership with their local destination marketing organization, Visit Baton Rouge.
The Greenwood Plantation partnered with OnceThere to redistribute their tours through visitbatonrouge.com and have the functionality to sell their tours directly through their own website.
Greenwood Plantation uses OnceConnect’s custom booking widget on their website to sell their plantation tours there as well, and as a result now receive bookings online through the booking widget. Consumers now book tour tickets using a computer or mobile device, something they weren’t able to do prior to their OnceThere implementation.
